Lebanese: What is your perception about the Hezbollah?
I know some Lebanese people don’t like them and others would like them to keep their dignity, and join the Lebanese army, and work as a team with our government, I’m from a farm in the Margayon area. My brother served in the South Lebanese Army, in the year 2000 his platoon surrendered to the authorities, now he’s a soldier in the Lebanese Army he’s accompany commander of a heavy infantry unit, Sadly enough I feel that on one hand they should fight with dignity, and on the other hand they are militia and all the countries in the world have armed militia, why can’t Lebanon have one, having a militia is very important for struggling countries like Lebanon, Militias act as defenders and organizers for the civilian population (to evacuate, feed and shelter refugees), our enemy’s resave militia units represent 32% of the population ours are a mere 16%, I put it to you this way why should Hezbollah disarm, when they are the only protection line between us and our enemies? I know that they’re not boy scouts but who else is going to protect our family farm if they don’t think about it.
